How to batch email notifications at specific times per day with Inbox Pause

Note: Some Inbox Pause features are currently in a limited release beta. Available features may vary.

New research shows that turning off email notifications and checking email three or four times a day can help you feel less stressed and get more done–while still responding to messages just as quickly. Sounds great – and easy, right? But in practice, it isn’t easy at all. A lot of work touches email, so it’s easy to get sidetracked in your Inbox when you’re trying to get something else done. Inbox Pause can help address these issues by giving you control of when messages arrive in your Inbox. You can even whitelist certain email addresses, domains, and words if you want more important emails to get through while paused.

How to batch email notifications at specific times per day

1
Click Pause Inbox in the top left corner of Gmail.
2
Click Batched Delivery.
3
Input the times you'd like email to enter your Inbox.
4
Customize any additional Pause Settings. You can create an Auto-Reply to let senders know your Inbox is paused, whitelist certain email addresses, domains, and words with Delivery Exceptions, and/or hide the label that stores your emails so it's less accessible.
5
Click Turn On Batched Delivery to confirm.
