How to use Send Later

Boomerang's Send Later feature is a customizable, intuitive way to schedule emails in as few as 2 clicks. Whether you're contacting a client in a different time zone, emailing yourself a reminder on your to-do list, or writing to a teammate outside of business hours, Boomerang's Send Later feature makes it easy to schedule emails and stay productive at any time.

How to use Send Later

1
Compose a new message or reply, then click on the red Send Later button at the bottom of your compose window.

2
Select one of the default delivery times, or enter a custom delivery time into the text box at the bottom of the menu, then click the  Confirm button. Our custom time field recognizes phrases as simple as "Tomorrow morning" and US Time Zone abbreviations (e.g. EST, CST, PST, etc.). Examples:
  • + 5 hours (Or "minutes," "days," "weeks," "months" or "years.")
  • Tuesday 9am
  • Tomorrow 4pm
  • Jan 1
3
Your pending scheduled message will be stored under the Boomerang-Outbox label until the scheduled delivery time.
4
From there, your email will be sent automatically at the scheduled delivery time--even if you're offline or logged out of your Gmail account! After the email has been sent, you'll be able to find the email in your Sent folder with the timestamp of when it was sent.

How to schedule automatic follow-up emails

1
When scheduling a reply, you can also enable response tracking so the scheduled message only gets delivered if the recipient doesn't reply. (Great for scheduling follow-up emails in advance!) To do so, check the box next to "if no reply" in the Send Later menu before choosing a delivery time.
2
If the recipient replies to the email, you'll receive a message at the scheduled delivery time letting you know the message was cancelled and giving you the option to send, view, or edit the message. You can also find the email under the Cancelled sublabel of the Boomerang-Outbox.
3
If the recipient does not reply to the email, the message will be sent at the scheduled delivery time automatically, so you won't need to worry about being online or logged in to Gmail to send that follow-up email! You'll be able to find the email in your Sent folder with the time stamp of when it was delivered.
